Our Summer Swim series continued this week in Loughrea lake, the first of two fresh water swims on the schedule this summer. Loughrea is unusual body of water, while its central to most of our members, if a place very few of us swim that often. As swimmers we really are biased towards the Atlantic!

A smaller crew tonight that we have had for our Tuesday swims, but as usual, a great group of swimmers. All took on the 800m loops set out in the lake, some swimmers taking one, others doing multiple loops. Tonight we had an added distraction while swimming, David Conradie was mid a North Channel crossing, so every 2 minutes it was out with the phones to see if his little flashing dot had moved along the tracker.

Don’t forget our next Tuesday night swim has changed, originally scheduled for Renville, we have changed it to the cancelled Coral Beach. Travel plans will be announced closer to the time but we are hoping to set-up car pools from Blackrock.
