ILDSA Annual Awards 2019
The ILDSA (Irish Long Distance Swimming Association) holds its annual awards ceremony in Kinsale, Cork on the 29th February. The club are up for three awards:
The Margaret Smith Award for “person who increased the profile of open water swimming”
The Sheena Patterson “Spirit of open water swimming award” for our “Summer Series”.
“Best open water swim” for our Lifeboats Swim in July 2019
And congratulations to various club members who have been nominated for individual awards:
Female Swimmer of the Year: Dee Newell
Male Swimmer of the Year: Fergal Madden
Connacht Swimmer of the Year: Dee Newell, Fergal Madden and David Conradie
Female Newcomer: Debbie Flynn
Male Newcomer: Colin Henehan and David Conradie
Performance of the Year – Dee Newell as a member of the relay team that did the Irish Sea Swim, Dee again for her English Channel, David Conradie for his North Channel
