A Splashing Success:
24-Hour Charity Swim Raises €5,400 for Down Syndrome Ireland Galway Branch.
On March 28th/29th, our incredible community came together for an unforgettable challenge — a 24-hour charity swim in support of the Galway branch of Down Syndrome Ireland. Held at Club Vitae Oranmore , the event brought together swimmers of all ages and abilities in a true show of endurance, team spirit, and generosity.
From the first stroke to the final lap, Over the course of 24 hours, they swam an amazing 376 kilometers (7,520 laps of the pool) showcasing not only their love for the sport but the unwavering commitment to a worthy cause. Whether diving in at dawn or taking a turn in the quiet hours of the night, every swimmer played a vital part in this collective achievement.
Thanks to the dedication of everyone involved — swimmers, supporters, volunteers, and donors — we are proud to announce that it raised a phenomenal €5,400 for Down Syndrome Ireland, Galway branch.
These funds will go a long way in supporting the vital work they do for individuals with Down syndrome and their families throughout the region.
