Atlantic Masters Swimming Club is an open water swimming club. Our aim is to encourage members to become more confident and experienced in the open water with a focus on enjoyment and challenge. Throughout the year, we have different swims; night swims, Turkey swims (Every Sunday from October to December!!) nights out, awards night and much more. Our club members swim in the open water,
sea or lake, all year round. We ask all our members to be actively involved in the club, both as a swimmer and as a volunteer, when needed. We do run pool sessions from early October to early May; however, these are for the benefit of our members to improve their open water
swimming techniques and endurance. If you are only interested in pool swimming then this is not the club for you.
Due to the nature of open water swimming we do not take beginners for safety reasons. We expect that all new members can swim 20 – 30 lengths of a pool at their own pace. Speed does not matter at all!! If you think you are not at that level yet, I have contact details of coaches who could help get you to this level before you join the club.
Atlantic Masters is a group of people who love to swim in the open water, in wetsuit or skins. Our members vary widely in abilities and goals. For some a goal might be to swim 500m in open water and for others it might be to complete an ocean crossing.
