So who will join us on, what promises to be, a fun-filled weekend trip to the Bonnie, Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond on Saturday 30th August 2025?

Go Swim Loch Lomond (in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support) are hosting swimmers of all abilities to a fun day of swimming in Balloch on the shores of beautiful Loch Lomond (30mins drive from Glasgow Airport).  Here’s what they have to say:

Join us for an Open water swimming experience you will never forget.

World famous Loch Lomond is our venue – a truly spectacular location in the shadow of the mighty Ben Lomond. We are working closely with Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, and have their full support.

The loch has a proud history of swimming events, and we will be using the familiar entrance and exit points and course associated with the main slipway at Drumkinnon Bay.

 

There are options available to suit everyone… and also an opportunity to head over with the family and make a weekend of it:

  • 750mtrs
  • 1500 mtrs
  • 3000 mtrs
  • 5000mtrs
  • 10000 mtrs

Water temperature will be around 13degrees C at that time of year

PRICING:  The early bird pricing runs until the 30th April 2025 with prices varying from £25.00 – £67.00 (depending on the distance)

Additional info:

  • Fly to Glasgow Airport with Ryanair (return flights are around €100-€150) or Aer Lingus from Dublin
  • Glasgow City Centre is around 30mins drive
  • There is a lot of accommodation around the shores and in Glasgow itself (for singles, or families)
  • If folks are happy to share costs, we can look at rental car sharing and getting a house for the long weekend
  • A friend of mine did this last year and commented on how friendly and fun the atmosphere was at the event
