Help Us — Help Heroes

Galway and the West of Ireland is well known for its unique Corrib River and the Atlantic Ocean and they are well used natural resources by both locals and tourists all year round.

On occasion however these waterways are the source of danger, loss and grief for families.  In Galway we have two key services, the RNLI and the Oranmore Maree Costal Search Unit (OMCSU), that provide us with much appreciated safety and support at times of need.

Atlantic Masters are west of Ireland’s largest open water swimming club that have over 90 members and are ambassadors for water safety.   As part of their “2019 pay it back to the community” initiative the club are hosting their inaugural Charity Swim which will be in aid of the RNLI and OMCSU.

The event will be held on the 15th of June at Renville Pier, Oranmore.  The event is already attracting international, national and local interest and it is expected there will be over 300 swimmers taking part across the main 2km Race and the novelty swim which is aimed at those that may want to “give sea swimming a go”.

To ensure we can cover the costs to run the event and that 100% of monies raised will go to both charities we are reaching out to local businesses to request support, which could be in the form of sponsorship, donations of product, services or volunteering on the day.

The event has been officially launched and is receiving lots of attention both on social media and in local press. We believe this is a perfect opportunity to promote local businesses and are more than happy to discuss the platforms we can use to acknowledge your businesses involvement in this event.
