On Saturday the 18th of August, Clodagh Murray, Mark Dwyer, Fergal Madden & John Cloonan four members of A.M.S.C.G. participated in the 10K swim in Lough Gill, Co. Sligo in aid of the North West Hospice. As usual the Club were welcomed with open arms by the organisers and committee of the Lough Gill swim. To say that this is the best organised swim in the country is an understatement. It is a swim not to be missed and should be experienced at least once. A special thanks to the kayakers on the day who looked after and guided the swimmers. Without them the swim would not take place.
All four members were pleased with their results.
Clodagh 7th overall in a time of 3:03:31 (2nd place Ladies skins), John 12th overall in a time of 3:12:51 (suit), Fergal 14th overall in a time of 3:20:17 (1st place Men’s skins) and Mark 17th overall in a time of 3:37:12 (suit) out of a field of 43 swimmers.
