Atlantic Masters Club Swim 2025

This is the 11th Atlantic Masters annual swim. It is a 2.7km looped swim. It is located near the picturesque village of Kinvara in Co. Galway. Swimmers will swim from Traught beach and Lynches Pier to and back on a marked 2.7km course. There will be kayakers and safety boats in the water to guide swimmers. This is not a chipped swim and times will be recorded manually at the finish. The swim is open to skins and wetsuit swimmers.

Must be a Swim Ireland memeber.

Please note registrations close at 18:00 on Friday 5th. There will be no opportunity to sign up on the day of the swim.

Check In: 2pm onwards

Try a Swim event : 3pm

Race Briefing: 4:45pm

2.7km Race start: 5:00pm (tide dependent)

Hot food will be laid on after the race.

Male/Female skins: 1st, 2nd and 3rd

Male/Female wetsuit: 1st, 2nd and 3rd


I am aware of the need to be well prepared and medically fit before entering open-water swimming competitions.
* I assume full responsibility for the risks included in competing in such events.
* I confirm that on the day of the Atlantic Masters Swim 2025, my fitness level will allow me to complete the 2.7km swim course in no more than 1 hour 45 minutes.
* In consideration of my entry, I agree to waive and release Atlantic Masters Swimming Club, and the Organising Committee, principles and sponsors of the Atlantic Masters Swim 2025 from any kind of liability for illness or accidents which may cause death or injury, and from any kind of  liability for property loss.
* I confirm that my acclimatisation to cold water, together with my choice of swimwear (wetsuit or togs) will allow me to complete the 2.7km course safely
* I understand that I must register several hours before the start of the event at Traught beach and have made appropriate travel plans to allow this registration.
* I agree that if I have not completed the event within the maximum allowed time of 1 hour 45 minutes that I will follow the instructions of the event stewards to exit the water.
* I agree that my entry is non-refundable and is non-transferable to any other person
* I further accept the conditions of entry and agree to be bound by same and the instructions of the official stewards on the day
* I accept that photographs taken of me during my attendance and participation in the Atlantic Masters Swim 2025 may be used to promote the swim generally and that such promotion will include publication on the internet

Directions: Follow theN67 through Kinvara towards Ballyvaughan. Once you’ve gone through the village, take the second right past the EMO fuel station (You will see signs for Doorus church, Doorus school and Traught beach here).
Continue down this road, past the Travellers Inn, and to the right at the next corner.
The road narrows so drive slow and be warned that there is a barrier for 2m clearance at Traught beach during the Summer months.
