There’s no stopping Atlantic Masters S.C. Galway.
Last Sunday sixteen members of the club along with five of their fellow swimmers from Limerick and Ennis competed in the Neda el Món (swim the world) Illes Medes swim, L’Estartit, Costa Brava, Spain organised by Mark Dwyer. The Irish outdoor swimming club had the largest representation from overseas.
The main 5.2k swim around the Islands was spectacular to say the least with 254 swimmers taking part. Unlike Irish water, the temperature was around 20 degrees and was welcomed by the skin swimmers of the club. The club didn’t go home empty handed either. The clubs coach Brian Desmond and fellow swimmer Mary McCloskey took first place in their respective age categories.
